James Alfred Anderson, Jr., 70, St. Augustine, died Aug. 9, 2014, at Flagler Hospital. He was born in Wildwood, N.J., and had resided in St. Augustine for 34 years, moving here from Cape May, N.J. He was a fireman for the City of Cape May until his retirement. After moving to St. Augustine he worked as a mechanic. He was an avid sportsman who enjoyed bowling, playing softball and drag racing.
Private memorial services will be held.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Beverly Anderson, St. Augustine; three daughters, Lisa Anderson, N. Cape May, N.J., Karen McCloskey (Frank), Villas, N.J., Ronnie Jean Greathouse (Kenny), St. Augustine; son, James D. Anderson (Tinkey), St. Augustine; three brothers, Ronald, Daniel and Gary Anderson, all of Cape May; grandchildren, Steven, Joshua, Frankie, Mandy, Drew, Kenny "Rooster", Gunner, Amber, Taylor; four great-grandchildren and his beloved dog, Rosie.
