Mary Elizabeth McLure Calhoun (Betty) passed away on Thanksgiving Day. She was born in Alexandria, La., and graduated from Louisiana State University before marrying Noble Putnam Calhoun of St. Augustine, Fla.

Betty was a longtime member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Women's Exchange. and the Colonial Dames of America St. Augustine Town Committee. She was a big Gator fan along with rooting for her LSU tigers. She loved her family dearly along with numerous friends. She loved playing bridge with friends, but mostly put everyone in her life before herself. She was generous, kind, loyal and always greeted everyone she met with the most incredible smile. She is now in heaven with her husband, "Put;" her parents, Ruth and Tom McLure; her brothers, Tom and James McLure; and her granddaughter, Kelly Birchall Reed.

Betty is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Birchall and her husband, Ron; Ann Marie and her husband, Mike; and Katie and her fiancé, Rick. She also leaves behind her grandchildren, Michael Birchall, Andrew Birchall and his wife Amy, and Stephen Birchall. Great grandchildren surviving her are Kai Birchall, Von Birchall, Andy Birchall Jr. and Kelly Birchall.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Betty's name to the LSU Foundation, LOD Cook Alumni Center, 3838 West Lakeshore Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808, in memory of Mary Elizabeth McLure Calhoun.

A burial with family will be held at a later date.
