Dr. Hehn earned his D.D.S. degree at Northwestern University and completed his surgical residency at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.
Roger and Lee moved to Jacksonville in 1947 to establish his practice. He was called to active duty in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War and returned to Jacksonville to grow his practice in oral and maxillofacial surgery.
Dr. Hehn served the Jacksonville community at the Duval Medical Center (later University Medical Center), Brewster Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital and, over the passing years, every hospital and medical center in the Greater Jacksonville area.
During the years of operating a local practice and lovingly raising a family, Roger served in local, state and national organizations, promoting high-quality medical and dental care for all people.
Never looking for fame or accolades, Dr. Hehn used the gifts of talent, skill and a loving soul to humbly serve God and heal. He endeavored to pass on his passion through mentoring and teaching surgery residents in training. Roger enjoyed his time here as few could! He possessed a zeal for everything he did professionally, spiritually and recreationally with family, patients and friends.
Roger knew no strangers. All were welcome in his heart.
