Sally Kay Hull, died Jan, 6, 2014, at the Bailey Center for Caring.

She was born April 6, 1942, to John and Keen Ivey in Sanford, Fla. Growing up in small-town Sanford was one of the biggest blessings in her life, giving her lifetime friendships of 71 years. She learned early in life that "'can't' never did anything," and she accomplished many things because she tried. She was a pianist, artist, swimmer, cheerleader, diver, water skiing instructor, golfer and avid football fan. "GO GATORS!"

The word "joy" was very important to Kay. She found "joy" in life in her family, friends, music and teaching. One of her favorite sayings was,

"Joy is when life has been pulled out from under you and you can throw down a rug and still dance".

Kay attended Stephens College. She received a Bachelor of Arts in education from the University of Florida and a master's degree in education from the

University of Central Florida.

She taught school in Florida for 27 years, mostly in Lake County where she lived with her late husband, Robert Alderman. After his death, she moved to St. Augustine and retired, where she met and married Richard "Dick" Hull, who brought new joy to her life. They enjoyed golfing, travelling, hiking, biking, their summer home in Sky Valley, Ga., and each other for 16 years.

Combining their families brought them five sons, one daughter, three granddaughters and one great-grandson.

Kay was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority, St. Augustine Women's Exchange, Marsh Creek Ladies Golf Association, former president of the Mount Dora Center for the Arts and worked for the Mount Dora Arts Festival until she moved in 1995. She also was a member of the Sky Valley Golf Club, the Sky Valley Garden Club and was the choir director for the Chapel of Sky Valley and a member of the St. Anastasia Catholic Church.

She is survived by her husband, Richard; son, Gary Lindsey, Belleair Bluffs, Fla.; brother, Dr. John D. Ivey (Katinka), Nokomis, Fla.; stepsons, Scott Alderman, Mount Dora, Fla., Andrew B. Hull (Lynn), Ft. Washington, Pa., James Hull (Debra), Fayettville, Ark., Matthew P. Hull, Bingen, Wash.; stepdaughters, E. Shaunn Alderman, Boca Raton, Fla., Liz Hull, Marionville, Pa.; granddaughters, Wendla Alderman, Mount Dora, Lilly Beth, Boca Raton, Allise Hull, Bigen, Sherisse Hull, Audubon, Pa.; grandson, Lake, Boca Raton, and great-grandson, Jerimiah Xavier Pedroza, Audubon.

There will be a memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Jan. 17, 2014, to be held at the St. Anastasia Catholic Church, 5205 A1A South, St. Augustine, FL, 32080. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Bailey Family
