George C. Mirabal, 75, of St. Augustine, passed away peacefully at the Bailey Family Center for Caring with his family at his side on Oct. 24, 2017. He was born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, and had resided here in St. Augustine for the past 60 years. George proudly served his country in the Florida Army National Guard for 25 years. He also worked in retail advertising for the St. Augustine Record for 42 years until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Irene Mirabal, St. Augustine; two children, Ronald Dean Mirabal (Kelly), South Daytona, Gina Mirabal Moses (George), Ashland City, Tennessee; four grandchildren, Matthew Ward-Moses, Ryan Dean Mirabal, Liz and Lexi Moses; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and close neighborhood friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luis and Eugenia Arana.

Per his request, there will be no services.

Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in his memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or to the Wounded Warrior Project.
