Jack Wilbur Rogero passed peacefully on June 28, 2018, at Princeton Village, Palm Coast, surrounded by family. He was born in San Mateo, on Oct. 24, 1927, to Richard L. and Mildred L. Rogero. Jack attended Putnam County Schools, graduated from what is now Palatka High School in 1945, and went on to graduate in 1957, with a bachelor's degree in education from Florida State University. Jack served his country in the Air Force from 1950 until he was honorably discharged in 1954.

He spent much of that time in Europe. He returned to Florida and taught in both Dade and Putnam County schools from 1957 until he retired in 1996. He left behind numerous English students whose grammar and love of literature was improved because of his passion for teaching. Jack was an elder in the San Mateo Presbyterian Church until he moved to St Augustine in 1988. He was also a lifelong member of FSU alumni, Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, American Legion Post 0037 and the Menorcan Cultural Society.

Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anne Fornes Rogero, grandson, William Henry Masters and sister, Rose Rogero. He is survived by step-daughter: Di Masters & step-son–in–law: Paul Masters of Ridgefield, Connecticut, step-daughter: Beverly Hoyle of Largo; sister: Betty-Jean Mauldin of San Mateo; brother: Richard L. Rogero of Marietta, Georgia, eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
