James Ryan Levelle, 31, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2013, at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville surrounded by his family and friends. He was a native and lifelong resident of St. Augustine. At the age of 15, Ryan began working and learning the restaurant business at Saltwater Cowboys. He was employed there as a cook. Ryan was known as a jokester and was a talented artist. He spent much of his spare time writing and illustrating his own cartoons. More than anything, Ryan was a beloved son, brother and uncle and was well loved by his friends and co-workers at Saltwater Cowboys. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ronda and Chris Spindler of St. Augustine; his father and stepmother, Carl and Nyla Levelle of Andro Island, Bahamas; sisters, Tiffany Kersey (Dan) and Trista Levelle, both of St. Augustine; brothers, Shaun Levelle of Georgia, Chad Levelle (Michelle) of St. Augustine; maternal grandmother, Barbara Powers of Chiefland, Fla.; maternal grandfather, James Ronnie Lyles (Mary Jane) of St. Augustine; and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Ryan"s life will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Eby officiating. A visitation, beginning at 3 p.m. will precede the service. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations to assist the family can be made at St. Johns Family Funeral Home.
