Keith David Wegner (best known as "Splash") passed away Dec. 30, 2016. Splash was born Feb. 20, 1969, in Fort Lauderdale. He loved and lived most of his life in St. Augustine. As a longtime manager of the Oasis Restaurant, his boundless work ethic was known by all. But as his nickname suggests, Splash was much more than a hard worker. He was full of fun and not only laughed often but had the ability to make others laugh as well.
Splash was passionate about football, baseball, basketball and played golf whenever possible. Family was a top priority for Splash.
He is survived by his much loved mother, Judy Adams-Smith; sister, Kim (Chuck) Foster; and nephew, Smith Foster, Trinity, North Carolina; father, Klaus Wegner, Destin; aunt, Gerda Haack, Warsaw, Indiana; cousins, Michelle Emmond, Upper Arlington, Ohio and Kenny Haack, Warsaw. Splash also have a large extended family and many, many good friends. We will all miss the great pleasure of his company.
Rest in peace, Sweet Angel!
A celebration of life will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, at Creekside Dinery.
