Robert Stalley Entwisle, 88, died April 25, 2013, at the Bailey Center in St. Augustine, Fla.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Emma Jean; two children, Robert C. Entwisle (Katherine) of Miami and Susan Perryman (Mitch) of St. Augustine. He is survived by one brother, Eugene "Fritz" Entwisle of Port Republic, Md., five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson. His parents, Charles Robert and Edna Grace Entwisle, preceded him in death.

Robert was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theater. He earned several medals for his participation in amphibious landings with the 4th Marine Division on Roi, Saipan, Tinian and Iwo Jima. He was born and grew up in Forestville, Md., moving to Florida in 1948. Robert remained an avid sportsman his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and gardening. His children share those passions with him and many family holidays revolved around those hobbies. He had a natural talent for fixing anything mechanical or electronic. A skill and strong work ethic that he turned into a successful business and career in television repair in Miami. He took pride in being innovative and never replacing something that could be fixed.

Visitation will be at Craig Funeral Home, in St. Augustine, 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 2, 2013. The funeral service follows at 11 a.m. A committal service with military honors will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. at the Jacksonville National Cemetery.
