Shirley O"Leary McIntyre, 78, passed away at her home with Daniel, her devoted husband of 60 years, by her side.
Shirley was born and raised in New York City. She lived in Port Jefferson, Long Island, for many years before moving to St. Augustine six years ago. She worked as a payroll clerk for Stony Brook University. Shirley was most of all a homebody, content to be a supportive wife to her husband, Daniel, a retired New York City firefighter and proud mother of two sons who are retired New York City police officers.
She is survived by Daniel; sons Bruce McIntyre (Phyllis) and Daniel McIntyre (Kathleen); grandchildren Erin, Kristy, Elizabeth, Maggie and Jack; great-grandson Louie; sisters Eileen, Kathleen, Maureen and Bernadette. Her parents and sister Margaret preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. Tuesday at Craig Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers please consider making a memorial donation to the Bailey Center at Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257. Shirley"s cremains will be inurned at Jacksonville National Cemetery at a later date.
