Walter Rider Hedeman III, 71, passed away at his home on Friday, April 6, 2012. Born in Washington D.C., to Walter Rider Hedeman Jr. and Elise Hedeman on March 20, 1941, he was raised in the Chesapeake/Baltimore area before moving to Dallas Texas.
He attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1963. After graduating he worked for IBM, based out of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., including 18 months in Sindelfingen, Germany, until 1993. He then worked as a consultant before working for Wellspring, the company from which he retired from in Florida. He is survived by Helyn (Kay), his wife of 44 years; his son, Walter Rider Hedeman IV, his wife Susan and their daughter Helyna; his son Keith, his son John Hedeman and his wife Vera.
He died peacefully and unexpectedly. The family will hold a private ceremony. The family asks that all those who feel close to the family have a quiet moment thinking of Walt on Friday afternoon. If you would like to recognize him, you may send a charitable contribution to the .
