Joseph M. "Joe" Leigh, age 75, of St. Augustine, passed away on Feb. 22, 2014, at the Bailey Family Center for Caring, surrounded by his family. Joe was born and raised in St. Petersburg, Fla. and was a graduate of St. Petersburg High School. He was a lifelong resident of Florida, having lived in many different cities of the state, and was the son of the late William and Inell Leigh, formerly of Crescent City. He had been a resident of St. Augustine since 1990, where he owned and operated Leigh Insurance Agency for 22 years. He was also an active member of the Unity Center for Living, for several years. Above all, Joe was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, and he will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his only sibling, Barbara J. Brill of Crescent City, and his wife, Leah T. Leigh. He is survived by his sons, Tom Jaudon (Sally) of Palm Coast, Jonathan Jaudon (Terri) of Athens, Ala., and James E. Jaudon of St. Augustine; daughters, Mary K. Leigh-Wojcik of Rockledge, Fla., and Lynette E. Crisp (Nelson) of Clyde, N.C.; and 11 grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Donations in Joe's memory may be made to the Bailey Family Center for Caring, c/o Community Hospice of NE Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
