Alan Brown of St. Augustine passed away Thursday, March 13, 2014, at The Bailey Caring Center. He was born to Mary and George Brown in Glasgow, Scotland in 1943 during an air raid. After the war, his family immigrated to New York City on the Queen Mary.

Alan leaves behind his wife of 39 years, Verna; his two sons, Wesley and Lyle; his sister, Sheila and her husband Roy; three grandchildren, and two nephews and their five children.
As an aerospace engineer, he always enjoyed the challenge of developing new technology. Alan was an avid International soccer fan and enjoyed sailing Monterey and San Francisco Bays and off the shore of St. Augustine.
Services will be held in Santa Cruz, California at a later date.
Those wishing to honor his memory may make a contribution to the Betty Griffin House of St. Augustine.
