Martin R. Raid Jr., 74, of St. Augustine, Fla., passed away on March 29, 2014, at the Governor's Creek Health and Rehab in Green Cove Springs, Fla. Born and raised in Erie, Pa., he had lived there for most of his life, and served his country in the U.S. Army. Martin worked as a Foreman for Lord Manufacturing in Erie for nearly 40 years. Due to his daughter's acute nephritis, he was a 50 gallon blood donor for over a 37 year period. Martin relocated to St. Augustine in 2001, and was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing bingo. Above all, he was a loving husband and a devoted father and grandfather, who will be truly missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Angene Raid, of St. Augustine; daughters, Bonnie Joan, of Erie, Pa., Jeanette Raid, of St. Augustine, and Michele Smith, of Cambridge, Ohio; a son, Martin P. Raid, of Sacramento, Calif.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
