In 1938, she was hired by Lever Brothers Company to work their New York office. Her supervisor, Robert Pitman, became her husband in 1941. World War II interrupted their married life while he served in the U.S. Army until May of 1945, fighting in Italy, France, and Germany, where he became a wounded prisoner of war.
After his return, they had two children: a son, Lawrence Reed Pitman of St. Augustine, and a daughter, Diane, who is married to James F. McCluskey who resides in Dacula, Ga.
Upon Robert's retirement in 1973, they bought a home in St. Augustine Shores, where she remained for over 40 years, being pre-deceased by her husband in 1995. Having joined the Shores Recreation Club (now the River Club) when they moved to the Shores, Priscilla was very active in the club. She and her husband participated in all the dances, and she enjoyed other activities, such as singing in the occasional shows, and playing Bingo. She also served as its vice president for one year.
Survivors are, in addition to her children, one brother, Herbert W. Campman Jr. and his wife Mildred of Amherst, N.H., and her nieces, Claudia Frades, Pamela Campman (Young), Heather Astle, Barbara Wright and Priscilla McFarlane and their children. She was pre-deceased by her husband and her sister, Florence McFarlane.
