Kenneth Watson Griffin, age 88, of Elkton, Fla., passed away April 15, 2014, at his home with his wife and family by his side. He was a lifelong resident of Elkton and farmed potatoes and cabbage for over 36 years. Kenny was a veteran of World War II and a member of the United Methodist Church of Hastings, Elks Lodge #829, past president of the Florida Planters Association and former commander of the American Legion, Hastings Post. After retiring, he and his wife, Peggy, enjoyed golfing, traveling and fishing in Alaska and Lake Okeechobee.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Craig Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Brian Jones, officiating. Burial will be in Craig Memorial Park. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Craig Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Peggy Davis Griffin; son, Kenneth Doyle Griffin (Mary), St. Augustine, Fla.; daughters, Debra Doan (Dan), Mount Dora, Fla., Dana Griffin, Elkton, and Deidra Thornton (Dean), San Antonio, Texas; sisters, Betty Jo Brubaker, Elkton, and Cassie Pouliot, Titusville, Fla.; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
