Helene Ruth Higginbotham, 75, Hastings, died April 16, 2014, at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, and had resided here most of her life. She was a homemaker, and she loved to ride motorcycles, singing and dancing.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, April 26, 2014, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home with Pastor Lois Turner, officiating.

Immediately following the services, a reception will take place at The Meeting Room, 2121 U.S. 1 South, in the Ponce de Leon Mall. Any food contributions should be delivered to The Meeting Room between 1 and 2 p.m.

She is survived by her children, Elijah Higginbotham (Diane), Hastings, Cindy Snowberger (David), Jacksonville, April Carney (Doug), Vero Beach, Kim Brownlow (Gary), Hastings; brother, Elliott Gribble; sister, Sheron Gribble; father of the children, Buck Higginbotham, all of St. Augustine; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Higginbotham.
