Frank Shoals, 86, passed away peacefully at the Bailey Family Center for Caring on April 28, 2014, after a long battle with Alzheimer's, surrounded by his loving family. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather who will be dearly missed by all who loved and knew him.

He was born on Sept. 29, 1927, in Quincy, Mass. After serving in the Navy during World War II and the Air Force during the Korean War, he worked as an insurance agent for 24 years. He was light-hearted and quick-witted, always seeking to make the people around him smile. He was passionate about golfing and his motorcycle, but most importantly his family.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Fr. William Mooney, officiating. A prayer service will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Craig Funeral Home with visitation continuing until 7 p.m. Burial will be in San Lorenzo Cemetery. Those wishing may make contributions in his memory to San Lorenzo Cemetery, 1635 U.S. 1 South, St. Augustine, FL 32084.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 60 years, Betty; daughter, Carolyn Shoals; son, Frank "Buddy" Shoals; grandchildren, Tiffany (Shannon) Zanzarella, George Dwelle III, Ariel Head and Kristin Shoals; great-grandsons, Cody, Zachary and Hayden Zanzarella, all of St. Augustine; as well as many other loving family members and friends. He was predeceased by his daughter Kimberly Shoals.
