Michael Louis Dousman, 72, passed away peacefully, embraced by his loving and devoted daughter, Sarah Jane, June 4, 2014, at the Bailey Hospice Center.
Born July 26, 1941, to Judith and Frederick Dousman in Minneapolis, Minn., he was a longtime resident of St. Augustine, Fla.
Mike graduated from Westminster College, Fulton, Mo. , served as an officer and Vietnam vet in the Navy and had various jobs throughout his lifetime. He was an avid snow skier and tennis player (Aspen, Colo.) and skilled sports fisherman who won many awards, including first place in the Kingfish tournament in St. Augustine, with his beloved boat the Contender.
He is survived and greatly missed by his only daughter, Sarah Jane Dousman, St. Augustine; beloved brother, Richard (Michele) Dousman, Fontana, Wis.; loving and caring nephew, Peter Dousman; cherished niece, Carrie (Edward) Howard; great-nieces and great-nephew, Ella, Molly and Sean Howard, Chicago, Ill., and a lifetime of friends.
He will long be remembered as a man of great strength, courage and dignity.
A private memorial service will be held at a future date.
