William Taylor Carcaba, passed away on June 10, 2014, at his home in St. Augustine. He was born Oct. 6, 1929, at Flagler Hospital. William graduated from Ketterlinus High School in 1947. He served as the State Quartermaster before retiring from the Florida National Guard in 1984.

William was a member of the Florida Sheriff's Association for over 40 years, St. Augustine Elks Lodge #829, and North Shores Improvement Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Hallie (Fulcher) Carcaba, first wife, Patricia (Toner) Carcaba, and a son, Joseph Glen Carcaba.

William is survived by his wife, Jean (Hunter) Carcaba; children, Tony (Sharon) Carcaba, Karen (Michael) Curet, Raymond (Nadine) Carcaba, Steven (Leslie) Carcaba, Christopher (Jennifer) Thiele, Paul (Monica) Thiele, Carrie (Christina) Carcaba, Matthew (Stephanie) Carcaba; a brother, John H. (Susan) Carcaba; 15 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and a niece and nephew.

A gathering of friends and family will be held at 9 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2014, at Craig Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow starting at 10 a.m. with Fr. Thomas Willis, officiating.
