Annie Jane Palmer Murphy has gone home. She was born in Dover-Foxcroft, Maine to Robert William and Virginia Lee Palmer on April 4, 1935 and died on July 8, 2014. She moved to Ashland, Fort Fairfield, and Old Town, Maine. Moved to Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. Annie graduated from Cochran School of Nursing, Yonkers, N.Y. with a three year diploma in nursing in 1955. She married Francis "Frank" P. Murphy, Jr. on Dec. 19, 1955. Annie worked at St. Johns Riverside Hospital and Nursing Home, Saratoga Springs, N.Y. She resided in Rotterdam, N.Y., then Galway Lake, N.Y., before moving to St. Augustine, Fla., in 1997 after the death of her husband Frank.
She is survived by her five children, Colleen Marie Murphy, Patricia A.M. Osborne, both from Broadalbin, N.Y., Catherine A. M. Burton (Hugh) of Sitka, Alaska, Francis "Bud" P. (Tammy) Murphy III of Middle Grove N.Y., Daniel Allan (Bambi) Murphy of Galway, N.Y., her brother, Robert W. Palmer of Florida and Maine, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.She was predeceased by her husband, Frank P. Murphy Jr. and sister, Gloria Ann Palmer Hegan.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Galway, N.Y., and St. Anastasia Catholic, St. Augustine.
A memorial service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday July 12, 2014, at St. Anastasia Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Lindenfelser, officiating.
A memorial service in Galway, N.Y., will take place at a later date and will be announced.
