Eleanor Lucille Tucker Hanson entered into eternal life on Wednesday, July 16, 2014. She was born Aug. 26, 1918, in Centerburg, Knox County, Ohio, to the late H.M. and Mary E. Stitt Tucker. She moved to St. Augustine in 1926 when her father took a job as a photographer in what is now "The Oldest School House." She was a house wife and worked in the family photography business as well as being a pastor's wife for many years. She was married to the late Howard H. Hanson, Sr. for 48½ years.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Howard H. Hanson, Sr., an infant son, her brother, Leonard and his wife, Ruth.
She is survived by the following: a sister, Dolores T. Greenway, Tupelo, Miss.; sons, Howard Hiram Hanson, Jr. and wife Margie, St. Augustine, David Hanson and wife Darlene, St. Augustine, Jonny Hanson and wife Sophie, St. Augustine: daughters, Elberta Dyer, Murfreesboro, Tenn., Lois Hoyle and husband Hugh, Pleasant Garden, N.C., Mary Solana, St. Augustine. She is survived by grandchildren: Stephen Dyer, Joy Kleinschmidt (Bill), Benjamin Hoyle (Katie), Julie Hoyle, Charlie Solana, Michael Hanson (Jessica), Jason Hanson (Verena), Rebecca Hanson, Jonathan Hanson, Jackie Baggett (Michael), Aaron J. Hanson, Jesse Hanson, Jameson Hanson, Hayley Hanson, and two step-grandsons, James and Nicholas Canelos; great-grandchildren, Aaron C. Hanson, Noah Roberts, Mikey Baggett, Stevie Joy Baggett, Sophia Dyer, Jenna Kleinschmidt, Josh Kleinschmidt, Carter Kleinschmidt, Emily Hanson, Bryson Hanson, Logan Hanson, a step-great-granddaughter, Angie Houle, a step-great-grandson, Cameron Canelos. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday July 21, 2014, at St. Johns Family Funeral Home. A visitation, beginning at 10 a.m., will precede the services.
Flowers are gratefully declined and those wishing may make a contribution in her memory to Haven Hospice.
Interment will follow at Craig Memorial Park.
