James Steven Graves, 76, of St. Augustine, passed away on March 9, 2018 at Community Hospice of Northeast Florida at the Bailey Center surrounded by his family. He was born May 3, 1941, in Laurel, Mississippi to E.L. Graves and Margaret Graves. Steve had a successful career as a financial manager of Gulf Oil Company in Latin America and Africa. He retired as a respected attorney in Gainesville and St. Augustine. He had a love for Alabama football, fishing, and travel. A loving husband, father, and grandfather, Steve is survived by his wife of 50 years, Maria Elena; children James Steven Graves, Jr. (Brianna), Colorado Springs, and Georgiana Pulak (Robert), St. Augustine; grandchildren, Lanie and Heath Pulak, St. Augustine; brother, Stanley Graves (Patsy), Birmingham; sister, Deborah Camp (David), Birmingham. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Craig Funeral Home, 1475 Old Dixie Highway, St. Augustine, FL 32084, 904-824-1672. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Following the service refreshments will be served at Craig Funeral Home.

You knew Steve Graves if you ever
1. Played bridge and had him as your partner
2. Went fishing with him
3. Spent an afternoon at his "River House"
4. Watched an Alabama football game
5. visited or chatted about Africa or Costa Rica
6. Received estate and tax info from him.
A great friend, I'll never forget and remember shared experiences!!
