ASHVILLE- It is with great sadness that the family of Erwin Chesbrough, age 87 of Ashville announce his passing on Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Gadsden, Alabama. Erwin was a longtime resident of Ashville, Al and married the love of his life, Josephine Walden Chesbrough on April 30, 1948. They were married to one another for 67 years. He was born in Escanaba, Michigan. He studied at Oxford Academy in Pleasantville, New Jersey and the University of Alabama. Mr. Chesbrough served in the US Navy during WW II. He is survived by his wife, Josephine Chesbrough; sister, Betty Tucker, Birmingham; brother, Keith Cutler, Port Richie, FL; daughters, Nancy Lichtman and Jan Stephens; grandchildren, Chesie Roberts, Jennifer Vann and Chris Vann. Graveside services were Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 1:30 PM at Oldham Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church cemetery in Ashville, AL. Reverend Jim Beck officiated.
