Funeral service for Mrs. Annie Victoria Wheeler, lovingly known as "Granny", 97, was 2:00pm on Tuesday July 2, 2013 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church the Rev. James Blair officiated. Burial was in Valley Hill Cemetery. She passed away June 30, 2013 in Cropwell. She was a member and attended Mt. Pisgah Church for 97 years. The story is her mom put her in a market basket and placed her under the pew during church service. She attended service on June 23, 2013 and July 2, 2013 will be her last celebration of life with her family and friends which as she has always shared her Christian walk with all in her 97 years. Her philosophy about attending church was "if she felt bad, she could be in church and feel bad just as well as feeling bad at home", she always felt at peace inside the Lord's house. She taught Sunday School for 64 yearswhile she managed Sno-White Cleaners and never failed to witness and encourage others to Christ. One of the first telephone operators for Pell City, Lincoln, Ragland and Vincent back when she had to answer the switchboard "Hello Central" and then you were connected. Since her birth in the year 1915, (horse and buggy to automobiles, trains to planes, and one telephone in her community to cell phones, newspapers to computers, post office to e-mail) lots of changes but she never changed, always the loving, caring mother and grandmother and always showed kindness to all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lorenzo L. Wheeler, a WWI veteran, and by a son, David Johnathan Wheeler. She is survived by her daughter; Rosa Ann Graham; sons, Ren (Lynda) Wheeler, Joe Wheeler; grandchildren, Tim (Chrisite) Graham, Mancel "Tony" (Karley) Graham, Suzanne G. Fritz, Lindsey (Jimmy) Woodard, Jonathan (Nikki) Wheeler, Cody Wheeler, Danny Boy, Tara (Jeremie) Partridge, Chad (Bridgette) Rayfield, Dr. Trey Rayfield; 11 great grandchildren; beloved niece, Beverly Templin; special caregiver, Ginger Lowe.
