Dorothy Herron, 94, went to her heavenly reward on November 13, 2012. She was born and grew up in Pell City, Alabama. She obtained degrees in education from Central College, Central, S.C., Samford University, Birmingham, Alabama and her Masters of Education from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN. She taught for 40 years at all levels from kindergarten through college. In 1960 she and her husband, Steve Herron founded Hobe Sound Bible College in Hobe Sound, FL. This was her life work and passion. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Box, andher husband Patrick of Charlotte; three grandchildren, Elizabeth and husband, Kevin Moran, Jennifer and David and one great-grandchild, Molly. Graveside service was held, together with her sister Jean Hammett Warren Ford, on Monday, November 19 at 3:00 p.m. from Oak Ridge Cemetery, Pell City, Alabama. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Steve and Dorothy Herron Scholarship Fund, Hobe Sound Bible College, Hobe Sound, FL 33455.
