Laverna Stewart McGuire, age 84 passed away November 12, 2012. Mrs. McGuire was preceded in death by her husband, Leon Stewart. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Stewart Hattis (Larry), Martha Jane Gilham, son, David Leon Stewart, grandchildren, Lisa Barker, Richard Wood, Sonya Gilham, Marissa Heard, great grandchildren, Phillip Wood and Colton Isbell. Funeral Services were held on Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 2 PM at Kilgroe Funeral Home Leeds Chapel with burial at Cedar Grove Cemetery. We got to know Mrs. Stewart (as we knew her) through her daughter, Ruth, who was our classmate at school. It was easy to match mother with daughter -- teasing smile, great sense of humor and infectious laugh. Laverna's positive, encouraging soul lives on.
