Margaret Parrish Scott, age 82 of Pell City, Alabama passed away June 4, 2014. Compiling a total of forty years in public education, she was a twenty-five year teacher of senior high school English at Pell City High School and retired as Principal of Duran Junior High School. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Pell City, a fifty year member of the choir at The First Baptist Church, past regent of the Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) Broken Arrow Chapter, Vice-President of the National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, John Lee ofNansemond Chapter, and member of the Kiwanis Club of Pell City. She received her Bachelor of Science and Masters of Education degrees from The University of Alabama and her AA Certificate from the University of Alabama in Birmingham . Additional1y, she was a member of the Alabama Council for School Administrators , Delta Kappa Gamma Society International, The University of Alabama Alumni Association and charter member of the Logan Martin Red Elephant Club. She is survived by her husband, C.W. "Bill" Scott, Jr.; daughters, Loo Scott (Gaius V) Whitfield, Bess Scott (Phil) Oswalt; brother, Robert Hunter (Jinanne) Parrish, Jr.; grandchildren, Gaius (Anna) Whitfield VI, Hunter Scott Whitfield, Pasha C. Bettie Scott, Taylor Dennison Oswalt; great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Scott Whitfield. She is preceded in death by her son , C. W. "Scooter" Scott, Ill; brother , Aaron Faegin Parrish; and parents , Flora Taylor and Robert Hunter Parrish, Sr. Funeral service was held Sunday, June 8 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Pell City. Interment was in Valley Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews , Robert Hunter Parrish, III, Swank Douglas Weeks, William Scott Weeks, Henry Shelton Weeks and special friends Gaston Collins Williamson and George Edwin Aiken.
