ASHVILLE- Services was held on Friday, November 23, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at McEntyre Baptist Church for Robert M. (Bob) Burrell who went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 19, 2012. Reverends Bobby Joe Winningham and Ross Swindall officiated. Burial was in Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directed. Bob was born in St. Clair County on June 27, 1936 to Willie Mae and E.P. Burrell. They later moved to Etowah County where he attended Etowah High School. He joined the United States Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a life member of the Veteran's of Foreign War. He was retired from LTV/Republic Steel after 39 years where he was a member of the Safety Committee and the United Steel Workers Local. He was a member of McEntyre Baptist Church, Ashville, and although he hadn't been able to attend lately, he loved his church family. He truly enjoyed being outdoors and hunting but one of his favorite past times was fishing with his brother, Bruce. He was an avid Alabama football fan and was so very proud to have a grandson now attending the University. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Mae and E.P. Burrell; an infant daughter, Mary Denise; and two brothers, Ralph and Wayne Burrell. Bob is survived by his wife of 23 and a half years and best friend, Mary K. Thomas Burrell; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Myrna Burrell; children- Donna and her husband, Donald Self; Tammy and her husband, David Bryant; Perry Burrell; Anna Marie and her husband, Allen Lancaster; and David Burrell. His grandchildren-Rachel Hawkins, Brandy (Carl) Fultz, Jessica (Jason) Espey, Jason (Jane) Bryant, Eric Burrell, Brittany (Scott) Schwendemann, Kori Green, Shane Burrell, Trevor Lancaster, Kyle Burrell, Savannah Burrell, and Nick Burrell. Great-grandchildren- Kelton, Jonathan, Kyra, LeAnna, Harper, and Enslee. A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. Pallbearers were family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are his brother Bruce, grandchildren, and sons-in-law. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made in his memory to McEntyre Baptist Church, The
