Rutkowski, Harold J. Harold J. Rutkowski, 78, of Shantytown, passed away January 30, 2016 at Aspirus Hospital in Wausau. He was our beloved, husband, father, grandfather and brother. A Mass of Christian Burial for Harold will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday February 12, 2016 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church in Bevent. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends and family will gather to share memories from 9:30 - 10:45 AM on Friday before the service at the church. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family. Harold was born in Shantytown on July 15, 1937 the son of Nicholas and Iva (Bentley) Rutkowski. Harold enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, sleeping with his little dog Kodi, and walking in the woods. Harold served in the United States Army from 1961-1963 as a PVT E-1. Harold married Anna Dulak on April 25, 1964 at St. Florian Catholic Church in Hatley. He worked at UWSP for 35 years as a maintenance mechanic. After his retirement he enjoyed woodworking, riding his motorcycle, trips to the casino, church picnics, and going out for breakfast. Harold was an avid Packers, Brewers, and Badger Football & Basketball fan. Harold will be deeply missed for his great sense of humor. He was a simple man who simply enjoyed the beauty of life. Harold is survived by his wife of 51 years Anna (Dulak), 3 daughters: Renee (Dale) Depeau, Luxemberg; Sherri (Brian) Onesti, Green Bay; Asil Donna (Lisa Unkefer), Weed,CA. 3 Granddaughters; Sydney and Emma Onesti and Iva Jane Unkefer. Four Sisters; Pat Bleyer, Lorraine (Ben) Tuskowski, Arlene Grunewald, Carol Zick and 2 brothers: Irving Rutkowski and Ralph Rutkowski. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Harold was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Noble Depeau and brothers; Chester and Bryce Rutkowski; 2 sisters; Marjorie Montgomery and Dorothy Niekamp; 4 brother-in-laws, 1 sister-in-law, 2 nephew,s and 1 niece. Harold's family would like to express deep appreciation to the doctors, especially Dr. Adam Clements, and nurses of Aspirus Health Care in the ICU, medical, palliative care units, to family and friends, and to Sister Mary Ellen for all of their support during Harold's last days.
