Sonnenberg, Doris M.

Doris M. Sonnenberg, age 57, of Amherst, WI passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice. Doris was born in Stevens Point on July 30, 1956, the daughter of the late Alois and Rose (Marcis) Kurzynski. On July 3, 1982, she was united in marriage to Ronald Sonnenberg at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stevens Point.

Doris worked at Sentry Insurance in Stevens Point. Her faith and church (Shepherd of the Lakes in Waupaca) were very important to her. She enjoyed camping, shopping, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Doris is survived by her husband: Ronald Sonnenberg, Amherst; her children: Judy Liegl, Weston; Anita (Keith) Wiza, Plover; Heidi (Kenny) Voss, Amherst and Bill Sonnenberg, Stevens Point; her seven grandchildren: A.J., Alyna, Andrew & Aubrey Liegl; Presley & Collin Voss; Olivia Wiza; her sisters: Bernadine Bowman; MaryAnn (Mike) Snider; Jean (Gary) Steele; Joyce (Rick) Dombrowski; her brothers: Jerry (Sharon) Kurzynski; Rich (Donna) Kurzynski; Jeff (Maggie) Kurzynski; sister-in-law: Ruth (Al) Hammon and brother-in-law: Roger (Mary) Sonnenberg. Doris is also survived by many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Adolph & Gertrude Sonnenberg, sister-in-law, Carol McGee and her brother-in-law, Dick McGee.

The Funeral Service will be on Monday, September 16 at 11 AM at Shepherd of the Lakes Church, Waupaca with Reverend Mary Bope, officiating. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 4 to 8 PM at the Jungers-Holly Funeral Home in Amherst continuing on Monday morning from 10 AM until the time of services at the church. Memorials greatly appreciated for St. Paul Lutheran School.
