Harry Bungert, 80, of West Allis died peacefully at the home of his brother, Michael on Thursday, May 9, while under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice of Wausau. Harry was born on August 3, to the late Joseph and Pauline Bungert and was raised around the Ellis area in central Wisconsin. Harry joined the United States Army in 1952 and upon his discharge he settled in the in Milwaukee area. Harry was a retired employee of General Electric.

Harry is survived by 3 brothers, Peter (Barb) Bungert of Sussex; Bob Bungert of Bevent; Michael (Shirley) Bungert of Weston; and one sister, Josephine Wanta of Bevent. He will be missed dearly by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Chester, Donald, Edward; and 2 sisters, Helen Schwartz and Marie Flatoff. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers-in-law, Tony Wanta, Leonard Flatoff and one sister-in-law, Barbara Bungert.

Visitation and services will be held at the Mary Queen of Heaven Church at 2322 S. 106th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Family and friends will gather on Monday, May 20, from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, Wednesday, May 22, at 11 a.m. at King, WI. Memorials can be made to the or to the disabled veterans.
