James J. Kusch

James J. Kusch age 98, of Stevens Point passed away Wednesday morning December 5, 2012 at Harmony Assisted Living.

Funeral services for James will be held 11:00 AM on Friday December 14, 2012 at Peace United Church of Christ at 1756 Dixon St. in Stevens Point. Rev. Scott Crandall will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 - 11:00 AM on Friday at the church. Shuda Funeral Service is assisting the family.

James was born April 23, 1914 in Illinois, the son of William and Barbara (Batek) Kusch . He moved with his family to Milwaukee as a child. James married Marion Halazon on April 26, 1941 in Milwaukee. He entered the United States Army and served his country in WWII. After his honorable discharge James returned to Milwaukee and began his career as a truck driver. He worked for various transportation companies until his retirement.

The couple moved to the Stevens Point area in 1978, he enjoyed bowling, playing the banjo and harmonica, and the outdoors. Most of all James loved visiting with his family.

He is survived by his nine children: James Kusch Jr, Jean Smith, Ellen Kusch, Richard Kusch, Lorraine (Ken) Doughty, Sandee Huss, Michael (Mary) Kusch, Cheryl Pruitt, Mark Kusch. 24 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marion in 2007, one sister and two brothers.
