Jeffery W. Burkart
Jeffery W. Burkart, age 63, of Stevens Point, died June 6, 2013 at his home.
Jeff was born on August 7, 1949 to William & Helen (Roeglin) Burkart in Milwaukee, WI. He grew up in Stevens Point, attended the local Catholic schools, and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1967.
Following high school, Jeff attended school at UW-Stevens Point before serving in the Army
from 1969 to 1971. During his time of service, he was stationed at Long Binh, Vietanam as Military Police. Jeff was honorably discharged in 1971 earning National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal & Expert Rifle Badge. Following his service, he attended MSTC and graduated with an accounting degree.
He married Annette Janusz on October 23, 1976 at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Stevens Point.
Jeff worked for Point Truck Sales for several years before starting his career as a school bus driver for the Stevens Point School District. He worked there for over 30 years.
Jeff had a love for driving school bus, sports, and most of all, for his family. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching the Green Bay Packers, Pointer sports, and car racing. He also enjoyed fishing, playing cards, going to church picnics, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Annette; son, Steven (Tomiena) Burkart of Amherst Jct; mom, Helen Burkart of Stevens Point; brother, Tom (Aggie) Burkart of Plover; & sister, Jill (Shane) Grosskreutz of Waupaca.
He is preceded in death by his father, William; and brother, Robert.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am, Monday June 10, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Boston Funeral Home with a prayer vigil held at 5:00 pm. Visitation will also be on Monday from 9:00 am until time of service at the church. Interment will be held in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.bostonfuneralhome.net
