John F. Mullarkey age 92 of Plover passed away January 18, 2013 at St. Michaels Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial for John will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday January 25, 2013 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. Greg Bohren will officiate. Visitation will be from 10:00 until the time of services at the church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
John was born June 15, 1920 in Ludlow, MA, the son of Francis "Frank" and Laura (Jodion) Mullarkey. He graduated from Ludlow High School in 1939. John married Alice Nedeau on February 19, 1941 in Ludlow.
He entered the United States Air Force
and was part of the first graduating class of the Denver Air Force Base in September 1942. He was then stationed in Kings Cliff England until his honorable discharge in 1946. He and Alice then settled in Ludlow where John worked as a building material salesman. They moved to Georgia in 1969, and John retired in 1983. The couple moved to Toccoa, GA in 1987 where John used his skill with stained glass to design and install stained glass windows in his parish church.
They moved to Florida in 1995, and eventually settled in Plover to be near family where they have resided since 2004. John and Alice enjoyed playing Bridge, and John was an accomplished wood worker, as he and Alice remodeled a number of homes throughout their lives.
John is survived by his wife of 71 years Alice, Plover; their two children, Maureen Giblin, Stevens Point and Thomas Mullarkey, Duluth GA; 3 grandchildren: Kate Giblin, Plover, Mary Giblin (Andy Evenson), and Anne Giblin Gedacht (Joshua Gedacht), andone great granddaughter, Maya. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Kathleen LaVariere.
