Leona C. Lyshik, 88, Town of Bevent, died Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Ministry Saint Michael's Hospital, Stevens Point.
She was born on July 14, 1925 in Stevens Point, the daughter of the late Theodore and Agatha (Gabor) Kluck.
On February 21, 1944 Leona was united in marriage to Stanley Lyshik in Chicago. He preceded her in death on August 9, 1968.
Leona was a member of St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent and the Rosary Society. She was very active in church activities including cooking for the Event in Bevent. She also helped cook and waitressed for many weddings and funerals. Leona enjoyed fishing, playing cards and spending time with her family.
Survivors include three children, Patricia (Adam) Borys, Custer, Richard (Linda) Lyshik, Mosinee and Deborah (Terrance) Cherek, Bevent; one daughter-in-law, Donna Lyshik, Stevens Point; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Susan Hintz, Mosinee and Mary Jane (Andrew) Zick, Rosholt and four brothers, Valerian Kluck, Milwaukee, Eugene (Vicki) Kluck, Stevens Point, Jimmy (Gladys) Kluck, Polonia and Roger (Dolores) Kluck, Custer. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Leona was preceded in death by two sons, James Lyshik and Stanley Lyshik, Jr., in infancy; five brothers, Barney, Louie, Norman, Benny and Stanley and one sister, Dolores.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10am on Monday, December 23, 2013 at St. Ladislaus Catholic Church, Bevent. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 5pm until 8pm and on Monday from 9am until the time of services at the church. There will be a Rosary Service at 7pm on Sunday at the church.
