Maynard J. Patoka
Of Plover died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, November 3, 2013 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield of heart failure.
Age 77 Maynard was born November 8, 1935 in the Town of Buena Vista. He was the son of the late Joseph and Agnes (Trzebiatowski) Patoka. He attended school in the Fancher area.
His marriage to the former Romona Wroblewski took place on November 24, 1956 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Stevens Point. After their marriage the couple settled in the Plover area. His wife Romona survives. Maynard worked for Morning Glory Dairy for over 48 years, with the last 20 years as an Independent Morning Glory distributor.
In his younger days he enjoyed playing baseball and softball for Buena Vista in the country league. He coached in the Plover-Whiting Youth Athletics Program, and loved Polka music and dancing. Maynard loved gardening and his most precious time was spending time with his family and watching his grandchildren in sports.
Maynard was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Bronislava Church and the Stevens Point Knights of Columbus Monsignor McGinley Council 1170. In Lieu of flower, a memorial in his name will be established at a later date.
He is survived by his wife of fifty six years Romona, and his seven children; Sandy (Mike) Pavelski , Roger (Sharon) Patoka, Brian (Lynette) Patoka and Lori (Tim) Buchkowski all of Plover, Carol (Bill) Rudiger of Amherst, Kim (Bob) Lawrence of Plymouth, MN., and Jodi (William) Rentfrow of Stevens Point.
Eighteen grandchildren, Jerry, Sheri, Joe, Scott, Kyle, Kolin, Wesley, Curtis, Aaron, Paul, Chelsea, Toni, Jacob, Matthew, Caden, Johanna, Natalie and Abigail. Seven great grandchildren; Leah, Mark, Nolan, Oliver, Nathan, Annabelle and Liam.
Further survived by two sisters Genevieve Shulfer of Stevens Point and Lorraine Buza of Elkhorn, WI. and one brother Ervin Patoka of Pewaukee, WI. He is also survived by additional family members and treasured friends.
Maynard was preceded in death by two sisters Philomen Dombrowski and Regina Konkol and four brothers Clements, Hubert, Leonard and Richard Patoka.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at St. Bronislava Catholic Church. Rev. James Trempe officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bronislava Parish Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the Pisarski Community Funeral Home, 2911 Plover Rd, Plover, and from 9:30 A.M. Thursday morning at St. Bronislava Church until the time for mass. The Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus will combine with the parish rosary at 7:00 P.M.
