Raymond Kinney Jr.

Raymond Kinney Jr., age 83, of Stevens Point, WI, passed away Sunday morning at St. Michael's Hospital while surrounded by his family.

Ray was born on May 23, 1930, in the Town of Linwood to the late Charles Raymond and Myrtle (Beaudreau) Kinney. He attended local schools, served two years in the US Army, and was honorably discharged in June of 1950.

He married Lucille Boyles August 27, 1955, at The Moravian Church in Wisconsin Rapids.

After their marriage the couple settled in Stevens Point. Ray worked for the Skalski Company in Stevens Point as a store manager & head mechanic for 35 years. When the business closed in 1986, Ray finished out his working career as a mechanic at Wisconsin River Country Club. In his semi-retirement, he worked a few years for his son, Dale, owner of Kinney Konstruction.

Ray spent a lot of time hunting and fishing with his wife and son; watching the birds at the feeders; and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. In his later years, Ray and Lucille enjoyed wintering in New Mexico with friends.

Ray is survived by his wife Lucille; his son Dale (Debra) Kinney of Plover; sister, Cathryn Finnessy of Portland, Oregon; grandchildren, Ted, Renee, Claire, Katie, & Anthony; great-grandchildren, Zoey, Asher, Carsen, Nolan, & Audrey; and nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his two brothers Harold (Marian) Kinney, and Robert (Matilda) Kinney.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, October 10, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Stevens Point, with Rev. Tom Petersen officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 9, at Boston Funeral Home, Stevens Point, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Thursday morning at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church for the Food Pantry.
