Sylvia Daul Loggin passed away on October 23, 2013, at her residence in Stevens Point at the age of 90 years and eight months. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Haupt Daul; daughter, June L. Malone; grandson, Jeffery W. Lewis; and her sister, Irene Isherwood.
Sylvia had a love for education which carried over into a long career as an educator. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Education Degree from Southeastern Louisiana University and both her Master of Education and Administration and Masters Plus Thirty from the University of Southern Mississippi. She began her career as a teacher in Bogalusa, Louisiana. After relocating to her native state of Wisconsin in 1970, she continued her career serving as teacher, principal, and administrator for the Stevens Point School District.
Children surviving are William F. Loggin (Mona), Mary L. Lewis (John), James E. Loggin (Kim), late daughter June's husband (Jack Malone Sr.), John B. Loggin (Marcia), and Carol Lynn Loggins (Dave). She also leaves her 14 grandchildren, Lee Loggin, Kristen Lewis, Eric and Nick Loggin, Leah L. Gifford, Jack II, John and Jake Malone, April, Sara, Dalton, and William Loggin, and Jamie M. Molgaard. Also surviving are 7 great-grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, and Isabelle Molgaard, Ainsley Lewis, William Loggin, James Loggin, Cassie Boles, and Lindsey Alford. Sylvia also has two surviving sisters, Evangeline Lampert, and Anne Lobner.
The family would like to express their thanks to the Heartland Hospice and especially to Jenny Geoffrey and Sal Hughes. Their kind and compassionate care for our mother is extremely appreciated.
In lieu of flowers, Masses or donations may be made to Sylvia Loggin's Memorial Fund, a memorial fund in Sylvia's name that will be established to further educational opportunities for students in the Stevens Point area.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the services on Saturday, November 2, 2013, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, 838 Fremont St., Stevens Point. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be private.
