Of Stevens Point died early Friday morning, March 21, 2014 at the Hospice House of Aspirus in Wausau, WI. Age 83. Alfred was born February 24, 1931 in Mosinee, WI.

He was the son of the late Martin and Alfreda (Reid) Lietz. Alfred served in the United States Army three separate times as a Unit Supply Sargent from 1949 t0 1962. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sargent E-6. He went on to serve the Wisconsin Army National Guard as an Administrative Supply Technician for a total 28 years. After his retirement he worked for the Stevens Point school system and for Budgetel in the maintenance department.

His marriage to Mary Ann Gorski took place on November 28, 1953 in Mosinee, WI. The couple settled in Mosinee before moving to Stevens Point. His wife Mary Ann survives.

Alfred enjoyed deer and duck hunting, fishing, Green Bay Packers, NASCAR and stock car racing, dancing, polka music, playing cribbage and the lottery. His most precious time was spent with his children and grandchildren. Alfred was a member of the Knights of Columbus Msgr. McGinley Council #1170 of Stevens Point.

Survivors include his wife Mary Ann of Stevens Point, four daughters: Barbara Macknick, Susan (Patrick) Worzalla, Mary (Mark) Elliot all of Stevens Point and Karen (Charles) Skibicki of Amherst. Eight grandchildren: Jennifer, Jessica (Matt) Gagas, Greg (Caslin) Worzalla, Laura, Matthew, Adam, Alison and Alex, four great grandchildren: Olivia, Lily, Memphis and Sophia. One brother Ronald (Ruthie) Lietz of Mosinee.

He was preceded in death by two brothers Robert and Norman, one sister Grace Heidt and one son-in-law Larry Macknick.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday March 26, 2014 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Rev. Dennis Stanchik officiating. Burial will be in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 9:00 A.M. Wednesday morning at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peters Church until the time for mass.
