Bonaventa Kazmierski, SSJ-TOSF
Sister M. Bonaventa Kazmierski, 97, a Sister of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis for over 81 years, died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at the St. Joseph Motherhouse, 1300 Maria Drive, Stevens Point.
Visitation at St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel will begin with a prayer service at 9:30 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Todd Mlsna officiating. Burial will be in the convent cemetery.
The former Joan Kazmierski was born Sep. 1, 1916, in East Chicago, Indiana, to the late Stanley and Antoinette (Fabiszak) Kazmierski. She entered the community on Aug. 7, 1933, and professed perpetual vows on Aug. 9, 1938.
Sister Kazmierski was an educator in Catholic Schools in Wisconsin and Indiana for 56 years. Locally, she was principal and teacher at St. Adalbert School in Rosholt (1954-1960). She served her community as Novice Director for two years. In 1994, she retired at St. Joseph Motherhouse, offering supportive service.
Survivors include nieces, nephews and the Sisters of St. Joseph.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Henry; sisters, Genevieve, Stella, Irene, Eleanore, Lillian, S. M. Maura, SSJ-TOSF and S. M. Lorene, SSJ-TOSF.
Memorials may be offered to the Sisters of St. Joseph-TOSF.
