Dona Mae Konz

Dona Mae Konz, age 79, 1116 Frontenac Ave., died Tuesday, February 26, 2013, at home, in the loving care of her children & caregivers after a lengthy illness.

Dona Konz was born October 1, 1933, in Chicago, the daughter of the late Edward & Ethel O'Connell.

She was a 1951 graduate of Aquinas Dominican High School, Chicago.

Dona was married to the late Dr. Kenneth W. Konz on Nov. 24, 1955, in Chicago.

She was formerly co-President of Birthright, along with her husband Dr. Kenneth Konz. Dona was involved with the Stevens Point Homemakers and her Bridge club for many years.

Dona was a devout Catholic, loving wife, and wonderful mother. Her priorities were her family. She loved her babies (all babies)! Her hobbies were oil, watercolor and pastel painting, crafting: needlepoint and crochet. She was a collector of all things crafting!

Survivors include, 5 daughters, Karen M. Konz, Plover, MaryAnne (Carroll) Vizecky, Freeman, SD., Peggy A. Rojo, Downey, CA., Patty J. Konz (fiancé Billy Green), Boston, VA., Dr. Cynthia J. Konz (Jon Roraff), Durango, IA., 4 sons, David W. (Karen) Konz, Eau Claire, WI., Don W. Konz, Wisconsin Rapids, Daniel J. (Doreen) Konz, Custer, and Bob P. (Deanna) Konz, New Hope, MN. Siblings, Roe (Jim) Hallinan, Leesburg, VA., Miriam O'Leary, Cedar Rapids, IA., Donald O'Connell, Chicago, IL., Marilyn Goebel, Crawfordsville, IN. Grandchildren, Robert W. Konz, Josh Konz, John Konz, Ali Konz, Emily Konz, Billy Konz, Kayla Konz, Sarah Konz, Hunter & Benjamin Roraff, Nathan & Lila Rojo. Great grandchildren Lilly Busa, Avery Konz.

Dona was preceded by her husband, Dr. Kenneth Konz, brother Edward O'Connell Jr., aunt Grace Thrailkill, & brother Robert O'Connell, Parents, Edward O'Connell Sr., & Ethel O'Connell.

A Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 am Monday, March 4, 2013 at St. Stephen Catholic Church with Rev. Jerzy Rebacz officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Boston Funeral home with a rosary being prayed at 7:00 pm. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service at the church. Burial will take place in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
