Donald A. Boettcher age 83, formerly of Nekoosa, died Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at the Stevens Point Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM. Monday, August 6, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Nekoosa. Rev. Carl Kummer will officiate. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa with military rites by Nekoosa VFW Post #5960. Friends may call at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa from 4-7 PM. Sunday and Monday at the church from 10-11 AM.

Don was born October 21, 1928 in Stevens Point to Albert and Jessie (Kuehl) Boettcher. He married Betty Bork on October 29, 1949 in Almond, WI. She died February 4, 1979.

Don was in the grocery business in Nekoosa beginning in 1950 and was the owner/operator of the Nekoosa IGA, retiring 1990. He was a member of the Nekoosa VFW and a former Nekoosa auxiliary police officer. He served in the US Army during the Korean War era.

He is survived by one daughter, Lorrie Richardson of Stevens Point, and two grandchildren, Krystle (fiance' Anthony Endries) Richardson and Kasey Richardson.

He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.

The family would like to extend appreciation to the staff at Point Manor and Ministry Home Care Hospice for the warm and loving care they provided Donald.
