MSgt (US Army Ret.) Donald "Jake" Jacobson, 88, died at his home in Washington D.C. on November 26, 2013 from complications of Parkinson's disease. A Stevens Point native, he attended McKinley School and was a 1943 graduate of PJ Jacobs High School. He served during World War II, the Korean conflict, in Viet Nam and was a Legion of Merit recipient. In addition to his military career, he farmed briefly in the Town of Dewey, before embarking on numerous business ventures in Montana and Virginia.

Don had a long history of volunteer service, was generous to friends and strangers, and brought joy to others with his ready smile. He tried to live every day to the fullest, and on his own terms. He leaves to celebrate his amazing life his devoted wife of 67 years, Lenora Bras Jacobson;, daughter, Mae (Blake) Novak; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley (John) Boudry; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sons, Major John Jacobson (US Army Ret) and Air Force Sgt Donald William Jacobson II; brothers, Frank and Charles; and sister, Val Stieber. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery in the spring.
