Dorothy Rogacheski, age 99, of Stevens Point, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at The Lodge in Plover, WI.
Dorothy was born on April 4, 1914, a daughter of the late Harry & Mabel (Altenburg) Calkins in Stockton, WI. She grew up in Plover and attended the local schools.
She married Michael Rogacheski on April 17, 1937 in Stevens Point. He preceded her in death August 15, 1979.
For many years she worked for the Worth Company as a supervisor in various departments. Dorothy retired after 30 years of service.
Dorothy was an excellent cook and baker. She was very generous and delighted in sharing her delicious creations with family, friends, and neighbors. Dorothy had a passion for helping others, as she was a member of the Portage County RSVP. She volunteered for over 20 years organizing bingo games for residents at various nursing homes with her best friend, Liz Gilkay. Dorothy received many awards for her devotion in helping others.
Survivors include two children, William (Carolyn) of Stevens Point and Betty May of Mesa, Arizona; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and nephew, Charles (Karma) Calkins of Stevens Point.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Marian Jackson; brothers, Donald Calkins, & Harold Calkins; and son-in-law, Don May.
A Funeral Service will be held 10:00 am Saturday, June 15, 2013 at Boston Funeral Home with Rev. Arul Joseph Visuvasam officiating. A time of visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial will follow the service in Guardian Angel Cemetery.
