Eljean Firkus

1930 - 2012

Eljean A. Firkus, Age 81 of 310 Casimir Road, Stevens Point, died Friday Feb. 10, 2012 at her home. She was born Nov. 2, 1930 in Stevens Point. The daughter of the late Peter & Frances (Bonowski) Blaskowski. Her marriage to James "Kuba" Firkus took place on Aug. 25, 1947 at St. Casimir Catholic Church. James died April 3, 2000. Her and her husband owned and operated James Firkus Auto Wrecking for over 50 years. She was a member of the St. Casimir Catholic Women's Society. Eljean enjoyed cooking, baking, spending time with family and especially enjoyed her little pride and joy great granddaughter Ellison. A memorial in her name will be established at a later date.

Survivors include: Three sons: Eugene, Kenneth (Margaret) & Daniel (Catherine) Firkus all of Stevens Point. Four Granddaughters: Sarah (Bruce) Boenski, Katie (Dave) Briggs and Kessa & Laura Firkus. Two brothers: Peter (Donna) Blaskowski of Madison and Jim (Carrie) Blaskowski of Peoria, AZ. Sister in law: Lucy (Art) Wysocki of Stevens Point and brother in law: Martin (Eleanor) Firkus of Custer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:30 AM Tuesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church. Rev. Arul Joseph V. officiating. Burial will take place in the Parish cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 8 PM Monday at the Pisarski/Dzikoski Funeral Home in Stevens Point and from 9:30 AM until the time of services at the Church on Tuesday morning.
