Mezera, Ethel Marie (Henry)
The Guest Book is expired.
We lost an angel today as Ethel Mezera of Junction City peacefully passed away on Sunday February 2, 2014 surrounded by her family. Her husband of 64 years, Harold Mezera, bid Ethel farewell along with her children and their spouses; Michael and Mary, Patricia and Raphael, David and Chris, Gail and John, and Todd and Elizabeth. Ethel had 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Born on Aug. 23, 1928, she was the darling daughter of Robert James "Jim" Henry and Christena Marie (Mezera) Henry. Whether working for the DuBay Cranberry Company or as a part time secretary, Ethel found time to raise her five children, stay active at St. Francis Xavier Parish in Knowlton, and enjoy Friday fish fries with her family. Friends were always welcomed at Ethel's home. She enjoyed large family gatherings, having her nightly glass of brandy, listing to music and bowling. Her birthday highlight was the yearly trip to play penny slots at the casino.
Services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Knowlton. Rev. Dennis Stanchik will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until the time of the service Saturday at the church.
Beste Funeral Home, Mosinee, is in charge of arrangements.
Donations can be made in Ethel's name to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research (www.michaeljfox.org).
