Kurszewski, Gertrude
Gertrude E. Kurszewski age 84, of Stevens Point passed away Sunday June 16, 2013 at Our House Assisted Living in Wisconsin Rapids.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Gertrude will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday June 20, 2013 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Jerzy Rebacz will officiate. Friends and relatives will gather to share memories on Wednesday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the Shuda Funeral Chapel. general rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM. Visitation will also be on Thursday from 9:30 - 10:15 AM at the church. Burial will be in the St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery.
Gertrude was born August 13, 1928 in Mosinee, the daughter of William and Florence (Slagowski) Steffen. She married Clarence Kurszewski August 28, 1948 in Milwaukee. While in Milwaukee she worked at Globe Union, the couple moved to Stevens Point in 1977. Gertrude worked at Worzalla Publishing until her retirement. She loved to bake pies, gardening, the outdoors, socializing, walking, playing cards, and most of all being with family especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Kurszewski, Wisconsin Rapids. 3 grandchildren: Keri (Matt) Klug; Leah (Brian) Kruger; Kenneth (Veronica) Kurszewski. 4 great grandchildren. 3 brothers: Ed (Erna) Steffen, Greenville; Gene Steffen, Las Vegas; LeRoy (Helen) Steffen, Webster. 2 sisters: Adeline Schwartz, Wausau; Betty (Wally) Litza, Oak Creek. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Clarence in 1996, and her special friend after Clarence's death, Vern Gavin.
