Irene C. Zurawski
Irene C. Zurawski, age 86, of Stevens Point, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, May 9, 2013.
Irene was born April 25, 1927 in Lanark, daughter of the late Edward and Frances (Boushley) Rader.
Her early childhood was spent living at St. Joseph Orphanage in Green Bay, WI from 1932 to 1942 with her twin brothers, George and Joe. At the age of 15, she left the orphanage to live with her Aunt.
She met her husband, Laddie at Wildwood Gardens. They were married on August 24, 1946 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Laddie's mother, Victoria and brother, Louie lived with them until they passed in 1951. Irene went on to raise 6 children, providing them with all her love.
They owned the All American Bar where they served the best chicken and fish fry's in town. After they sold their business, she worked at Sentry Insurance in the cafeteria and later retired from Sentry's custodian department.
Her early childhood made her a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very generous lady always helping anyone in need. She made regular visits to her friends in the Health Care Centers in Stevens Point, bringing them homemade cookies and candy. She never forgot her friends.
Irene enjoyed attending the Aqua Aerobics swim class at Sentry Insurance. The ladies were like family to her. She bragged about her hair stylist, Peggy. Her favorite holiday was Christmas. She loved her church, St. Casimir as well as attending church picnics. She was an avid QVC shopper.
Irene is survived by 6 children, Fred (Rita), Louise (James) Krusa, Richard, Robert (Jane), Mary (Michael) Kizewski, Sue (Joe) Studinski; 9 grandchildren, & sister-in-law Irene Rader.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Laddie in 2004; her parents; brothers, DeLoyd, George and Joe.
