Loren Henry Ziemer
Loren Henry Ziemer, 94, of Stevens Point, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Care Partners Assisted Living, Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Junction City, Wisconsin, with visitation one hour prior to the service. He will be laid to rest at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Kasson, Minnesota. Martens/Rembs Funeral Home, Junction City is in charge of the arrangements.
Loren Henry Ziemer was born June 15, 1918 to Ellsworth G. and Lottie Alivina (Dreke) Ziemer in Lake Freemont Township, Martin, Minnesota. He was the eldest of five children. He was raised at his parents' farm, attended school, was a loyal church member of the Lutheran faith and enjoyed playing baseball.
Loren married Leona Allen. They farmed close to Dunnell, Minnesota. To this union, one child, Marcia, was born. They later divorced. He later married Ada and they moved to Kasson, Minnesota where they farmed for many years. Ada passed away on December 22, 1979. He later married June and moved to Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He purchased the Cedar Inn, which they operated until June's death.
Survivors include daughter Marcia (Jack) Huff, Weatherby, MO; granchildren: Lori (Joe) Wille, Williams, IA, Jeff (Janet) Stotser, Kingman, AZ, and granddaugher-in-law Cheryl (Danny) Butler, Iowa Falls, IA; seven great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; one brother, Martin (Lois) Ziemer, Dunnell, MN; one sister, Myra Schmidtke, Walker, MN; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Loren was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Walter, a sister Geraldine, and one grandson, Michael Stotser in 1990.
